GIN TZÒA is a tribute to Lessinia and the Cimbri

Twenty botanicals for an italian artisanal Distilled Gin.

Born in Lessinia

If you’re wondering what Tzòa means, know that in the language of the Cimbri, the Tauç, means Two. It is artisanal and produced using botanicals that grow in Lessinia, an expanse of land northeast of Verona, where this nearly lost language has been passed down from generation to generation since the early centuries after the year 1000, when this people, after a long journey, arrived from the southern lands of Germany.

There is no better place than Lessinia, a magical land, to create a distillate with botanicals that have been surrounded by an aura of magic since ancient times

Gin Tzòa is a tribute to this territory and the people who inhabit it, guardians of unique culture, traditions, and folklore.

Botanicals

At the first sip, you’ll be struck by the aroma of this Gin, distilled with twenty botanicals, including the Service Tree and Chestnut, which impart elegant herbal notes with a pleasant sensation of smoothness.
In ancient folklore, the Service Tree was believed to be used as an antidote to evil spells and curses. In the Lessinia region, this monumental tree is still present today and was known both to the Cimbri and the Priest from Sprea.

Basilisco and Filò

In the filò ritual, a moment of sharing among the Cimbri people held in stables to benefit from the warmth of the animals, stories were told of fantastical beings born from superstition and folklore, such as basilisks, ogres, witches, anguane, and fairies.
While women spun wool, it was customary to orally pass down this collective memory to the younger ones, narrating tales that often featured the basilisk, as it was called by the Cimbri, also known as biso galeto.

Chi siamo

It may seem like a simple matter of numbers, but it is said that the Cimbri only counted on their fingers and used cardinal numbers only up to four. Hence, Viere (four) and Hänte (hands) to indicate the number twenty. The four hands of two friends who, after the year twenty-twenty, decided once again to divide themselves in four parts to encapsulate the history and culture of Lessinia in a bottle.

Spluga della Preta

When you find a cavity in the depths of the earth in Lessinia, you are discovering a Spluga. The Spluga della Preta is, literally, a cave that opens in the pasture. This abyss descends over 900 meters deep with galleries and tunnels, some of which are still unexplored, where it was believed that the fantastical beings of Cimbri culture hid.
